The Mid 90 is simply a BMX mid bottom bracket scaled-up for use with a mountain bike chain line. Frames will ship with this BB installed.
The Mid 90 has some real advantages:
Ease of setting up the bike with 3 piece cranks for a mountain bike chain line. The only spacer is the non-drive side bearing cap. The sprocket adaptor sits right against the drive side bearing.
Uses the same common and durable bearings as a regular Mid BB.
90 is a very high number, so you know itŐs good.
